I wanted to show the talents of Allison of AK Cake Design today. Every time I see one of her cakes I am amazed at the attention to detail she puts into each and every cake. Everything is made from scratch using a combination of local, organic, and imported ingredients, including Valrhona cocoa powder, Callebaut chocolate, Nielsen-Massey vanilla, local cage-free eggs, and organic milk. Some of the yummy flavors to die for are: chocolate butter cake, banana, red velvet, vanilla cake – if you don’t see the flavor you want, just ask. Fillings include: swiss meringue buttercream (a multitude of flavors), chocolate ganache, fruit purees. Prices vary by design complexity and guest count.
They truly are one of a kind masterpieces. The black & white cake shown on the right is one she did for my big 40th birthday bash – it was truly stunning! Give her a call @ 503.741.9241 to set up a consultation, see her portfolio or for general information.
I know I’ve been MIA for quite some time, but I’ve been crazy “life” busy. Today I wanted to feature a wedding from a while ago. I still love this wedding and the couple just happens to be the cutest ever. The images are from the lovely and talented Alexis from
Just wanted to spread a bit of cheer to help get you through the weekend. It’s been crazy hectic around here, so sorry for the lack of posts.
Today I’m going to show a personal side of my life. My daughter Ava turned 5. This was not just any old birthday either, she had her golden birthday! Where you turn the same age as your birth date… it only happens once in your lifetime!
My little girl is truly 100% girl. she is a sparkle-tastic girl and loves all things pink and sparkly. She decided to have a flower party, she loves “helping” me when I have things going on and thought it would be fun for her friends to see too. I’m not going to lie, I had grand dreams about how this would all go…all the girls would go home with these nice and tidy arrangements and learn something….HA! Once they had the flowers in their hot little hands, it was one giant stuff into the foam. UGH! I had to learn control, or lack there of, I should say. They had a great time and it was fun to see what they created.
Mmmm. The yummy treats were from Kimberly at
